Place Your Cuttings In Water

• This is the easiest part of cloning. Take your prepared cutting and place it in water up to the bottom node that still has foliage attached. After this is done, place your container with cutting(s) in a cool place that is out of direct sunlight, but still gets ambient light, for 3-14 days (depending on plant type) until good roots show. Make sure that in this time period that your water stays clean and full. The new cutting will use some of the water that it is sitting in, and also there is evaporation to deal with. Some people will add a minor nutrient to the water like 'super thrive' or 'B-52' or even a rooting hormone. This is not necessary for most plants, but can help the process along.
